Wormy Apple Croissants

I checked this book out at the library and it has all spooky Halloween recipes. I made this one all by myself and they are so good! You should try them.
Needed:
refrigerator crescent rolls
1 granny smith apple
caramel sauce
gummy worms
Peel the apple and cut it into small chunks. Put the apple pieces into a small saucepan and about 3/4 cup of water. I also added some sugar, cinnamon, and a drop of vanilla. Then cook over med heat for about 5 minutes. Drain water and put into a bowl. Stir in about 1/4 cup caramel sauce. Spread out crescent triangle on a cookie sheet. Put about 1 tablespoon of apple on the crescents and then roll them up sealing the edges. Bake at 375 for about 10 minutes. Then use a straw to make hole to stick the worms in. Drizzle with caramel sauce. These were really yummy when they were warm!

Camping

Dad took me and Natalie camping this weekend with Brian and his kids. We got to go to Luray Caverns and the maze next door. We hiked down to a waterfall and then climbed the rocks all the way back up. It was really cold at night, but we brought extra blankets and kept warm. We saw two bears and tons of deer.

Slumber Party

I got to have my first slumber party.  I invited three friends; Savannah, Bree,  and April.  We got to make carmel apples and then we watched Nim's Island with popcorn and soda.  Then mom played Spoons with us and taught us how to play Murder.  We stayed up until 11:30 and then fell asleep in the family room.  In the morning, mom said we couldn't get up until 7 at the earliest, so we slept until then.  We had crepes--my favorite--for breakfast.  We got to put strawberries and whipped cream or butter and syrup, or a combination.  We all had a really good time.  I can't wait until my next sleep-over!

Ryan Turned Two

While we were in California we had Ryan's birthday party.  There were lots of aunts and uncles and my mom's cousins.  We had a water balloon toss.  I was always in the top two finishers.  But mom and dad kept winning.  Then we played on the trampoline with Emily.  Then it was time for the pinata.  I got a lot of hits on it, but one of the big boys broke it in half.  I got two dollars and a lot of candy.  Then we had a great cake with ice cream---I had extra ice cream.  Ryan opened his presents and loved them.  Then me and Natalie played in the pool.

Swim Team Divisionals

This weekend was my divisional swim meet. It was against three other teams. I had a great meet! I came in third in my favorite stroke, breaststroke, and fifth in freestyle. It was so close in freestyle, my mom couldn't even tell who was first. Later that night we got to go to the swim party for our team. I got a special award for being one of the kids that earned the most points on our team. They gave me a gold medal for that. We also go trophies and a team towel. Then we got to swim in the pool at night with a DJ. It was a great party but it ended a little early because of the lightening---but I was pretty tired then anyways.

My Trip To Virginia Beach

Our first stop was at the kid's museum.  The parts that I liked the best were the bike that powered a radio and a trip into a computer.  It was a maze.  Then we went to Aunt Heidi's house for a barbecue dinner.  I loved playing on her trampoline!
Then we got to the hotel.   It was right by the beach.  We had a perfect view from our balcony to the beach.  We slept well that night after swimming at the pool.
When we woke up we went straight to the beach.  Every single kid had a boogie board, but not me!  After lunch dad bought me and Natalie our own boogie boards to catch the waves!  Mine has a whale on it and covered with blue.  When I was surfing one wave, an extra wave came over me and I went so fast.  I yelled, "Power boost!"
That night we took a walk on the boardwalk and we saw shells, dolphins swimming, and hermit crabs.  My whole family went on this funny bike together.  Natalie and Ryan sat in front in the baby carrier.  I sat by dad in the front.  Mom sat in back by herself.
On our last morning, dad took me and Natalie back to the beach with our boogie boards for a little while.  That day was Fourth of July.  After our beach adventure was over we went to our cousin's house and played on the big waterslide and with water balloons.  We ambushed the boys in their clothes!  We had hot dogs and lots of soda for dinner.  We painted our nails with Caroline.
We got home late but Natalie and I looked out my window and saw beautiful fireworks from the neighbors.

Pump It Up for Autism

My mom and dad surprised us by taking us to Pump It Up for a charity event. I played on the slides and raced mom and dad through the obstacle course. Dad beat me, but I beat mom. Being there made me remember my 6th birthday that I had there when it first opened. I can't believe that was two years ago--I'll be 8 next month!

Girl Day

Before we went to Great Wolf Lodge, mom took me and Natalie for a "girly outing." We got to go and get pedicures and manicures. And then we talked her into getting an ice cream at Pickle Bob's. I got a chocolate dipped cone and I didn't get too much on my face this time.

The Best Visit from Grandma Ever

On spring break, Grandma and my aunt came to visit. They stayed for three nights. We played Dance Dance Revolution with them and it was really fun. Then on Sunday we decorated some Easter eggs. My first egg I wrote "Dad and Lauren." Every egg that I did had either "LC," my initials, or "Lauren." One of them had a heart and a bunny face. On Tuesday, we had a picnic at the park. We played and played. Natalie and I went exploring on the paths. We saw a little bridge and some creeks. We thought we were going to find some diamonds, but we didn't. Then mom found us so we had to go back to the park and ate lunch. I had a peanut butter sandwich with a capri sun. Grandma got me and Natalie a chocolate sunday at McDonalds on the way home.

Williamsburg

On Saturday we went to Williamsburg. First we got in the car and drove for about 100 days. Thats what I have been thinking. At noon mom set up MOLLY (an American Girl movie) and it was the worst movie ever made!! Finally it was lunch. We went to Sonic and we had a BIG surprise. It was grandma!!!!!! So then we went to Williamsburg. I was very happy! We got on a bus and took a tour in a palace. It was fun. We saw the ice house and a pond. Me and my sister saw really pretty dolls, but they were about $50. Wow!! Luckily we found the same dolls at another store for only $15. Dad bought some big pencils for mom, grandma and aunt Heidi. Next we went to the Christmas store where we saw lots of cute ornaments. Grandma took us out to dinner after that at Ruby Tuesday. It was delicious. I had two hamburgers, water and fries. Then we drove home. By the time we got home everyone was asleep and mom and dad took us up to bed. I can't wait to go back to Williamsburg someday.

A Good President's Day

We started out on a beautiful warm day, even though it was in the winter. I wore a pink skirt and a white t-shirt with a sweatshirt around my waist. My family decided to go to Washington, DC for the day. I listened to my mp3 player on the way. When we got to Arlington National Cemetary it was so hot and humid. We walked up to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to see the changing of the guard. I liked hearing the guard's boots clack. Next we took the Metro to the real Washington DC to the Natural History Smithsonian Museum. It was really fun but crowded. We saw the new butterfly exhibit, the ancient seas area and the Hope Diamond---that was big! When we were ready to leave it was pouring rain! We had to walk across the mall back to the Metro station. We got soaked! When I got on the Metro, my skirt was soaked and I had to sit with it the whole way. It was torture. On the way home I fell asleep listening to my mp3 player. We got to stop at 7-11 to get a hot dog and a drink on the way home.
I had a great President's Day, and I hope you did too! Happy President's Day!

The Best Valentine's Day Ever!

When I went to bed last night I hoped the heart fairy would come. She leaves hearts stuck to our wall on Valentine's Day. And she left us a card today. I got ready for school after I read the card. At school we did an activity with lolipops then we did a math sheet with candy hearts. We got to eat them too. Then we made Valentine boxes and I decorated mine. We had our Valentine exchange. I sent out Valentines with a cat and dog on the bag with Air Heads, pencils, and stickers. Everybody loved them. I gave one to my friend April in a different class too. When I got home we got our treats from mom. Natalie got bubble bath and I got fingernail polish. Black polish is what I tried first and I like it, so I did all my fingers that color. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! XOXO

I totally want a puppy!

When I was 5 years old I totally wanted a puppy. The puppy that I really wanted was a chcoclate lab named Hershey. She would have a blue doghouse with her name in pink letters. I would love that a lot! And I want it to be a girl puppy. She would also need her name in gold letters on her food and water bowls. I hope someday this will happen!
