A Good President's Day

We started out on a beautiful warm day, even though it was in the winter. I wore a pink skirt and a white t-shirt with a sweatshirt around my waist. My family decided to go to Washington, DC for the day. I listened to my mp3 player on the way. When we got to Arlington National Cemetary it was so hot and humid. We walked up to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to see the changing of the guard. I liked hearing the guard's boots clack. Next we took the Metro to the real Washington DC to the Natural History Smithsonian Museum. It was really fun but crowded. We saw the new butterfly exhibit, the ancient seas area and the Hope Diamond---that was big! When we were ready to leave it was pouring rain! We had to walk across the mall back to the Metro station. We got soaked! When I got on the Metro, my skirt was soaked and I had to sit with it the whole way. It was torture. On the way home I fell asleep listening to my mp3 player. We got to stop at 7-11 to get a hot dog and a drink on the way home.
I had a great President's Day, and I hope you did too! Happy President's Day!

The Best Valentine's Day Ever!

When I went to bed last night I hoped the heart fairy would come. She leaves hearts stuck to our wall on Valentine's Day. And she left us a card today. I got ready for school after I read the card. At school we did an activity with lolipops then we did a math sheet with candy hearts. We got to eat them too. Then we made Valentine boxes and I decorated mine. We had our Valentine exchange. I sent out Valentines with a cat and dog on the bag with Air Heads, pencils, and stickers. Everybody loved them. I gave one to my friend April in a different class too. When I got home we got our treats from mom. Natalie got bubble bath and I got fingernail polish. Black polish is what I tried first and I like it, so I did all my fingers that color. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! XOXO
